Pisani and Camilleri Steal the Show at Round 2 of Malta Drifting Championship

Were proud to announce the success of the Malta Drifting Championship’s second round, held at Hal Far Drag Raceway. This event marked a powerful revival of drifting in Malta, showcasing the heart and soul of our dedicated community of drivers, volunteers, and organizers who are reigniting the sport after a quieter spell.

The energy at Round 2 was amazing, with a crowd of spectators, including many new faces, soaking up the adrenaline-charged atmosphere. This impressive turnout is all thanks to the sport’s resurgence, driven by our shared passion and a competitive yet welcoming environment that’s nurturing the next generation of drifters.

In the Amateur class, Lee Pisani stole the spotlight, dominating in his head-turning BMW that wowed the crowd with both its bold design and slick performance. Shaw Pisani followed closely, drifting his Lexus to a solid second place, while Jamin Farrugia claimed third with another BMW, delivering a podium finish that had everyone buzzing. The competition was a joy to watch, packed with skill and excitement.

The PRO class faced a challenge when Kane Pisani’s gearbox failure left Alfred Camilleri as the sole competitor. Undeterred, Camilleri still delivered his performance. Though we missed the usual PRO-class showdown, Alfred’s performance was nothing short of inspiring.

None of this would be possible without our incredible volunteers, whose hard work is bringing drifting back to its rightful place in Maltese motorsport. We also extend a huge thank you to our esteemed drift judge, Adrian Figallo, whose expertise and meticulous judging ensure our events are fair and credible, pushing our drivers to excel.

Round 2 was more than just a race but also a celebration of drifting’s bright future in Malta. With the increase in spectators, new talent stepping up, and the commitment of our community, we’re proud to see our efforts paying off. The Malta Drifting Club is honoured to lead this revival, proving that passion and teamwork can elevate even the most unique motorsports.
